Leetch deserves to write his own ticket, pure and simple. In business terms, he's put in the equivalent of 30 good years with the company. He should be rewarded for that by honoring his wishes.
There are plenty of pukes on this team who can be traded, and although none could secure in trade what Leetch can, there's something to be said for projecting an image of loyalty to and from a TEAM and building a family. The Ranger's single biggest problem is that it is a collection of mercenaries from here, there, and everywhere. It is time to change that culture and establish one that values loyalty and commitment to the idea of a group of comrades rather than a coalition built on salaries. Beginning a rebuilding by keeping a patriarch could be every bit as valuable
as the return Leetch would bring in trade.
