I had heard something interesting about the contract Sergei signed with the Ducks in the offseason...Federov has an "out" clause, at his option, at seasons end, in essence making him an UFA to deal with any team next summer. If this is true (any confirmation out there?) and Federov exercises that clause, JR coming back or not, Clarke should make every effort to get him.
It has been mentioned that Federov is a premier playoff performer, and that is totally true. This is something we don't have on our roster, and would be the most welcome of additions.
Theres no out clause and Fedorov has already said a few times he intends to honor his contract. Plus he is up to 50 points now, the last 20 games he has 25 points.
