Okay, the Habs are my team, and they always will be. That being said..

I like small market teams, with a low payroll, and teams that play a system that encourages offense and creativity. In the playoffs, when the Habs aren't there, I usually root for the underdog, and the Canadian teams (other than the Leafs). But, this year, I'll be rooting for the Sens (if/when the Habs get knocked off).

Teams that I root for other than the Habs:
1) Sens- Their depth is scary. Very exciting and explosive team.

2) Thrashers- I love their style. Offensive and gritty, they can be very exciting to watch. That is, of course, when they give the effort; during that loooooong losing streak, they weren't giving the effort, and it was brutal to watch. And, after all they've been through, they've found a special place in my heart.
Having two of my favourite players, Kovalchuk and Heatley, doesn't hurt either.

3) Lightning- They play exciting hockey, I love the system they play. And how can you not like a team with St. Louis on it??

This year I am also rooting for the Kings. With all those injuries, it's amazing they're in the playoff hunt.

Between the Wings and Avs: Wings (I always get asked this question, thought I'd just add it)
