My biggest fear this offseason before tonight was that they'd do something stupid pr-wise like invoke that clause. The media would jump all over it and upset the city out of buying tickets because they figured they'd be a lame duck franchise. Not upsetting the city was key to their survival, imo, and this is a thousand times worse, regardless of their intent.

The only way the team could possibly remain here is to say the team was sold based on the team not moving, not invoking any out-clauses, thus showing good faith, and making a big free agency splash in July to show that they intend to spend money to make money.

I'm pretty sure this is going to be the worst case scenario we have all feared, but I would like to see what the definitive news is.
