The point is the Canadian teams, even if you exclude Toronto and Montreal, aren't in the sad state that axecrew was insinuating they are. This isn't 1996 here where a team like the Oilers was struggling financially. None of the Canadian teams were part of the 11 teams that received revenue sharing last season. The reality of the situation is that due to the current CBA cities like Edmonton, Ottawa, and Calgary can compete with the big boys.
