That means a few things. First of all, Vokoun will be dealt for either young player(s), very cheap player(s) and/or picks. You won't see a guy like Boynton or Richards coming this way. Second, it means that Vokoun will come cheaper then normal.
The only reason we'd be dealing Vokoun is not that we want to start Mason instead, but rather we want to trim payroll.
You're right to a certain extent, but we still have to get to the cap mininum. Without Vokoun, we are 9 or 10 million below the minimum with about 10 spots to fill. We can afford to have a 2 mil player or two coming back our way and still have enough room to spend about 800 grand per player to fill up the rest of the holes.
