I would certainly be surprised if Balej ever made a dent in the NHL, and a 2nd round pick is nothing for a player of Kovalev's skill. Rent a player? Perhaps, but with the pending lockout, and CBA... Montreal isn't on the hook for much.

At 32, I'm not sure how this deal isn't a good thing. Bottom line, we are a better team now, than before the trade.
i completely agree with you, when you look at who got the best player in the deal it's a clear win for montreal...
