Well the first round of games for the Tri-Nations is done, each team comes out 1-1.

South Africa beat Australia thanks to a couple drop goals by 20 year old Francois Steyn. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJJ6gwzxqas

Go to the 1min mark. How the hell did he do that? South Africa is looking pretty good for the World Cup, but even better for the 2011 WC. At least 5 players under 23 and a bunch of injuries (including Brian Habana) and they still managed to beat the Wallabies.

Then New Zealand beat South Africa. The Springboks had control for much of teh game but the All Blacks proved to be too much in the end, their subs really made the difference.

And Australia came from behind to beat New Zealand, holding them scoreless in the second half. The NZ backs weren't very impressive (at least offensively), but their forwards absolutely dominated the first half, and once Australia found some holes in the backline, it was just too much. I still can't believe that Gear AND McCaw couldn't bring down a winger.
