Pittsburgh has no choice - they must give up the #1 pick. It's a budget move - they simply cannot pay. Stars don't make a difference in Pittsburgh - which is why they they've simply traded all that they have.

They will either draft him and have a bidding war (ala Lindros/Quebec) or will try to maneuver to stockpile some picks/player around draft day. IF they win the lottery.
