There's several places in town I can learn how to skate at, and plenty of places I can buy gear.

But I was wondering if people on the boards had good suggestions on books, DVDs, or even webpages I could go to for helping me pick up basics or drills for things like stick handling, passing, and shooting?

Thanks!
I see you're in Hilliard (me too). Don't worry about drop-ins and looking like a fool. There is always a good mix, one or two new guys and a few high level players, mostly middle of the road guys. The lower D leagues at the chiller are good for beginners and there are plenty of stick and puck sessions. There's plenty of ice time within the city, and Iceworks (that rink in a tent in Worthington, by the bud factory) is open in the fall/winter/spring.
