He was in the box for the whole thing? I didn't know that, my mistake.

Still...he probably wouldn't have done anything had he been on the ice.

I doubt it gets out of line as I'm sure Andy Van Hellemond, Gary Bettman and Colin Campbell will be watching. I dont thinkt he Flyers care however, they will still pound the likes of alfredsson and Havlat especially. Can't wait, nothing will take me away from my team on Game Night

Uhhh, yeah, ok.

What everyone is forgetting is that Philly had the last line change and I'd say it's Hitchcock's mistake more than anything. If they were really capable of doing anything (especially with Philly holding on to a comfortable lead) they would have done it in that game.

I don't think either team wants players suspended, injured etc. going into the playoffs.

Seems to me the Philly fans talk a lot tougher game than the Flyers play.

I don't think Hitchcock made his line changed based on the fact he thought Chris Neil would be as big and bad as to jump Radovan Somik find someone else on that line to fight with. That was the first fight in Somik's life.

Let's see:

1:45 left in the game. A big line brawl just finished. Jacques Martin sends Chris Neil and Zdeno Chara on the ice.

Hitchcock responds with the last line change by putting soft players on the ice who've never fought thinking this will prevent Neil and Chara from fighting anyone. So who made which mistake?

All I have to say is that I'm happy the way the game ended. Ottawa stuck up for each other. This is all just a psychological game at this point. Clarke can swear at the situation as much as he wants and threaten to hurt Ottawa's skilled players all he wants but all he's doing is drawing more attention to his actions come April 2nd. The league will be watching much closer and I'm sure Philly would love to lose players for the first round of the playoffs due to suspensions being handed out. If anything, I expect the Flyers and Sens to play a physical and energetic game. There will probably be a ton of penalties called and we'll be seeing powerplays deciding the game. Exactly what Ottawa would want in the end as their powerplay is pretty devestating. So, if Philly can afford to lose that game to get revenge, then go for it. As far as I'm concerned, the sweetest revenge is by winning the game or by winning a playoff series against them.

2 questions

why was Fedoruk not dressed for that game anyhow?

who started all the crap to begin with? Ken Hitchcock, Donald Brashear etc etc running their mouths off about justice and feeding Havlat his lunch.

Smart move by Martin to keep cheeseball Havlat out of harms way.

Well I don't agree with Neil pounding on Somik.. it's hardly equatable to suggesting you will send Brashear or Fedeoruk after Hossa and Alfie next game. Last time I checked Radovan Somik was a 10 point man. He sucks peruiod. If he can't defend himself why is he dressed?

Timander is a big boy. He should learn to use his size.

Broken hand. On Saturday he dressed only because he had to in order for the Flyers to meet the requirement of 20 players, but he never played a shift.

Because he is a solid defensive presence and one of pur best penalty killers. Same reason Claude Lapointe is dressed.

Well you didn't need a solid defensive presence on the ice in that situation.

Like I said Neil shouldn't have pounded on him but he isn't one of Philly's star players so equating that to going after Hossa and/or Alfie next game is pure follishness.. which is nothing new from the likes of Hitchcock and Clarke btw.
