Yeah, i know he's "good in the locker room" and all but i'm hard pressed to understand why they resigned the guy. Theres no way that I would play him if Staal is ready or Pock is still here.
Its just stupid. Hes a good guy, yeah... sticks up for his teammates... blah blah blah.

Girardi
Staal
Tyutin
Roszival
Malik
Mara
Pock
Hutchinson
Healthy Kaspar

are all higher on the depth chart.

Hell i'd throw in Sauer and Sang in a game before Struds at this point to see what they could do...

That would make him 11th. "Not fit for 10th defensman duties" lol

No.

Based on what I saw last year, Strudwick is not fit for 10th defenseman duties.
Ok, I guess we agree to disagree about Liffiton

Although I do agree that he is much better then Strudwick at this point

If there is one thing almost all of us probably agree on, is that the re-signing of Strudwick was unecessary and took up a possible valuable 500k of cap space...

nice guy, depth etc... but not needed.

WOLF PACK 2008
Dawes - Anisimov/Dubinsky (whoever does not make it) - Bourret
Korpikoski - Pyatt - Bahensky
Byers - Barnes - Moore
Graham - Dupont - Jessiman
Res ???

Baranka - Kaspairitis/Hutchinson/Strudwick
Pikkarainen/Potter - Busto
Liffiton - Sauer

Reserve King Kong Fritz

Montoya
Vally/Chris Holt/Mikka Wiikman

Callahan, Dubinsky/Anisimov (one of), Dawes(eventually), Girardi, Staal make the big club
Two of Kaspairitis/Hutchinson/Strudwick are traded for something.
I could also see Kaspar making the BIG team at the expense of someone - but how could this work capwise. It won´t I guess... Unless there is a trade.

BIG CLUB

Prucha - Gomez - Jagr
Straka - Drury - Shanny
Avery - Anisimov/Dubinsky (whoever makes it) - Callahan
Hossa - Betts - Orr/Hollweg

Last spot - ??? (trade/ufa/Wolfpacker)
14 forwards

Malik - Rozie
Mara - Staal
Tyutin - Girardi

Res Pock
7 defensemen

Henrik
Vally/new UFA or trade
2 goalies

Lots & lots of possibilities
Both at camp - opening night - at the trade deadline - and in the playoffs...

One has to wonder if Bahensky's and Pikkarainen's decisions weren't impacted by the level and depth of competition for spots on both the Rangers and Wolfpack. MAN, I'm looking forward to this year's hockey seasons.
