Avs Board - Official NHL Trade Deadline Transactions

Suppose this could be where we comment on the deals and such without getting the chaotic antics of the trade rumors board.

Anyhow, two deals so far today:

To NYR:
RW Rick Kozak
2005 2nd round pick

To PHI:
D Vladimir Malakhov

Nice deal for the Flyers despite giving up a good pick. Malakhov is definitely very talented and played well in the Cup victory for the Devils. Flyers have injury problems and solidify their defense corps.

To DAL:
D Chris Therien

To PHI:
2004 8th round pick
2005 3rd round pick

All I have to say is... and people thought we overpaid for Darby Hendrickson.

Therien's brutal and Flyers fans couldn't be happier.

B.C. is up to his usual antics......dealing when he doesn't need to........but eventually getting the players he wants, regardless of the price.

I wonder what its like being a Flyer......everyone is in and out so quickly.

NYR: Anson Carter

for

LA: Jared Aulin

Just went through. IMO Aulin's hype is starting to wear off. I think he was mostly a product of the Pierre Lacroix hype machine around the time LA chose him over Vrbata and Nedorost to complete the Blake trade. He'll certainly be given better opportunities to shine in Washington, but I guess we'll just hafta wait and see.

I think Malakhov was overpaid for personally--and I say that not knowing who the eff Rick Kozak is, or whether or not he's worth a dime.

The Minnesota Wild trade defenceman Brad Brown and sixth-round pick in 2005 to the Sabres in exchange for Buffalo's fourth-round pick in 2005, TSN has learned.

OK, the Wild are going to set a record for most 4th round draft picks ever acquired. What is that now, 5 or 6?

Considering what they've gotten for the other players they've dealt, I think this one favors Buffalo. They move down two rounds in the draft, and they get a gritty, NHL ready defenseman who at the very least will be serviceable as a filler.
