Two suicides in his family inside of 6 months, I think it was his father and brother? There were rumors of mafia involvement.

What is sad is that I used to actually think some of these players would be good additions to the team. Ouch...

Hnidy? Huh? Hnidy was a top-4 guy in Hotlanta last season, and should fit in quite well here as a bottom-pairing guy. Frankly, it'll take either great camps from Drats and Huskins or Nieds coming back and a great camp from at least one of them to bump him off the top-6. Assuming no one retires or is traded, I have him pegged as the #6 guy right now, and he'd probably be one of the best #6 guys in the league.

Didn't one of them "voluntarily" jump out a hotel window?

Did a google search and found this from Helene Eliot.

Yet, fears remain. Duck forward German Titov lost his father and brother
within five months during the 2000-01 season after each died in what he said
were "falls from a balcony," although he didn't use the word "suicide."
Beyond that, though, he was reluctant to discuss what had happened.

Hey, Bobby Dollas was a rock on the early ducks teams. Wren and Pronger also did a decent job in the early years, compared to some of the trash they played with.

Yeah, Dollas was a 4/5 guy thrust into a top pairing role, and he did okay. Not his fault he was forced to play over his head for his tenure here.
Same with LaDouceur. And Carney. And Rucchin. Etc. Our old GMs had a habit of not putting people where they belonged by acquiring some depth.

Banham-Cullen-Marha was supposed to be our 2nd scoring line behind Selanne-Rucchin-Kariya.
Ouch.

Loney was a solid NHL checker. Heck, he'd have fit in great with this year's team, in terms of character and work ethic.

kevin todd was decent. played the 3rd-4th line role fine. Heres 2 names that im sure none of you want to hear who actually had significant time in Anaheim: Patrik Carnback And Ladislav Kohn.
