Minor Ottawa/Dallas proposal

To Dallas
Shawn Weller http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/p...3?pid=00078678
Ottawa 3rd round pick

To Ottawa

Antti Miettinen

Reading the Stars board I see many are not too impressed with him.

I think he would be an excellent third liner for Ottawa.
Score 10-15 goals and collect 140 hits or so.

Miettinen-Kelly-Neil

I think that would be a pretty decent third line.

Done, though it could be a bit too much given up by Ottawa.
Only the third rounder might get the deal done.

weller is behind too many grinder types in the ottawa system, so its logical to dump him. I would rather dump him for a skill forward/project than another 3rd liner, as that is where our deficiency is. If we trade for miettenen, there is no space for hennesey/foligno this year.

There is.
Heatley-Spezza-Eaves
Vermette-Kelly-Alfredsson
Miettenen-Fisher-Neil
Donovan-McAmmond-Hennessy

I assume you meant one of them.

And Sens fans, don't you think that Kelly should play on the second line and Fisher should be used as a checking center. Kelly played really good with Heatley and I think Kelly has more offensive potential and Fisher would be the better checker.

It's not that Stars fans aren't impressed, it's just that he's never really grown into what the Stars hoped he would be. Also with the arbitration, he'll be getting a deal fair to his production, but not necessarily to how he produced given the opportunity he had to grab a spot on the top lines last year.

With the Stars facing a traffic jam of contracts, I bet they'd jump on this deal. Miettinen is a decent player. There's just not a real spot for him on Dallas this year.

It's a pretty fair deal for both sides, imo.

Sure, sounds fine to me too. I like that Miettinen-Kelly-Neil idea.
