for laughs. Lines 4 the season

Now that Avery is sewn up, and all (most) of the pieces are in place, what do you all think the lines will be?
I don't know if this is right, but it's a combination I could see, and it gives us three sick lines and a decent 4th. Obviously I'll probably get yelled at for ever thinking that this will be it.

Jags/Gomez/Hossa (Straka all the way to the third line for a little depth)
Shanny/Drury/Avery
Callahan/Straka/Prucha
Orr-Hollweg/Betts/Dawes

Rosival/Malik
Girardi/Tyutin
Staal/Mara-Pock-Strudwick

Am I that off?

Cally,

i completley agree that Dawes aint gonna play 4th line but nor will Bourret.

Both are scorers even though they can hustle and forecheck.

Straka - Gomez - Jagr
Prucha - Drury - Shanny
Avery - Dubinsky/FA -Callahan
Hossa - Betts - Hollweg/ player out of camp.

For me there is 2 places up for grabs...

With the questionable health of Straka, and Renney possibly screwing Prucha again, our top left wings may rotate. Straka on 3rd line may work with Dawes or Bourret stepping in.

Yea it's very questionable that two ahl'ers will get spots over Avery Straka and Prucha but just trying to predict Renney's moves here.

Dawes-Drury-Jagr
Shanahan-Gomez-Bourret
Avery-Straka-Callahan
Prucha-Betts-Hossa

I would love Dawes or Bourret to make the team and have a significant part to play but given that Renney airs on the side of caution more often than not, there is no way that Daws starts on the top line... and if either of he or Bouret make it the other wont.... i cant see him starting 3 rookies (cally is still a rookie) on opening night unless injury strikes...

That (above) team is a litle too soft too. The fourth line with Prucha and Hossa is to finesse, i think most likely Hollweg will skate on the 4th

There isnt no way that nigel dawes is going to be playing before petr prucha on ahead of pruchs. if he is, renney needs to be shot

Dawes deserves a shot, though i dont think he'll get one on a scoring line. I agree though, he certainly wont be ahead of Prucha(especially after giving him 1.6m) unless he has an exceptional camp.

I really think that either Avery or Callahan will play with Shanny's line, no? the chemistry worked (despite Avery and his bad history in Detroit) in both cases.
As for my prediction of Dawes on the 4th line, that should have been just me predicting that a preseason standout would be there not Dawes specifically.

i'd love himto but think about it, the top 2 centers are set with Drury and Gomez and he'd have to have that 3rd line spot... if they are planning Prucha and Cally there that line would be too inexperienced. He's only got a chance if he has a great camp and Avery plays on the 3rd line for experience.

I think Dubi needs another year in the A...let him have a nice solid 60-80 point season there and come into camp next year and really go for it...

hell....in a years time he might be replacing Avery!!!
