At least three teams, including the Houston Rockets and Boston Celtics, have made offers to center Dikembe Mutombo.
Both teams have offered him the league minimum ($1.2 million), and a third team is said to have made an offer as well. Mutombo will have a very tough decision to make, as both Houston and Boston have a legitimate chance to go to the Finals. But with the eyes of the world seemingly focused on the new-look Celtics, don't be surprised to see him get a change of scenery and back up Kendrick Perkins.
As if anyone needed an excuse to post these, but talk of Walker means I just have to...
Walker seems like an awesome guy off the court, but on the court he's just not worth what he's getting paid. He has a lot of downside to his game and for the money he's making, especially considering how much the Celtics already have wrapped up in three players, it'd be insane to bring him back.
Funny he didn't want to come back before we got Garnett.
Celtics signed Scot Pollard to a deal. He's averaged 3.2 ppg through his career. Good at defense apparently.
This guy is a character:
On March 11, 2007, Pollard caused minor controversy when he looked into the camera during a 20-second timeout and audibly said, "Hey kids... do drugs." Pollard later apologized, saying his words were intended to be taken in jest.
Wow, that would make an already great team, that much better.
If we add Reggie Miller to this already great lineup, it's going to make me even more excited for November. I think even at 42, Miller could be an asset in a limited role - which is what Ainge and Rivers are acquiring him for.
