NHL08 Player Ratings?

Stolen from the Sens forum, for those of you who play the EA series what would you rate players in the newest edition of the game?
Since the AHL is also now included you can have a ball in attempting to rate them as well, but I only included players that are likely to play on the big team at some point.

Here's my guesses.

PlayerRating
Jagr, Jaromir94
Drury, Chris90
Gomez, Scott88
Shanahan, Brendan87
Straka, Martin85
Prucha, Petr81
Avery, Sean80
Callahan, Ryan77
Hossa, Marcel74
Dubinsky, Brandon71
Betts, Blair70
Hollweg, Ryan64
Orr, Colton63
PlayerRating
Rozsival, Michal83
Mara, Paul80
Tyutin, Fedor79
Girardi, Daniel78
Malik, Marek76
Staal, Marc75
Pock, Thomas73
Kasparaitis, Darius70
Hutchinson, Andrew68
Strudwick, Jason64
PlayerRating
Lundqvist, Henrik93
Montoya, Al75
Valiquette, Stephen73

34 days until it's out. Can't wait.

But they better add online coop play this year! To me that's more important than create a play or any of the other new features.

I'm also pumped that our overall team rating is going to be solid.

Toots, Rosie and Lundqvist should all be 2 pts higher, but... otherwise... good enough I `spose.

Prolly prefer the 2k series myself anyhow... gotta read the gamerankings.com site.

I was being conservative in trying to predict what EA would rate them. not putting a whole lot of thought into how accurate it would be by comparison.

Here is 07's ratings..

Their Ranking were way to high on some players last year. Gomer was a 96-99 or something while John Madden was a 94----Gimme a break. I hope they are more realistic this year.

Plus I hope they have more updates this year. Last year there were 2. in 06 there were one a month i believe.

I'm thinkin his shot acc/pwr for both wrist and slapper are going to be low..his skating will be adequate but nothing special. They can't be too generous...lol@strudwick....64

Very surprising.
I'd give him a chance of getting maybe up to a 73 but that's it.

The fact that they're including the AHL license this year will save on a ton of created players. In NHL 04 you could create something like 80 skaters and 20 goalies. In NHL 2007 it was much, much less, so you had to take players from the Euro leagues and edit their names and stats once you ran out of created player slots.

But I can't wait for this year's game. I'm a EA NHL junkie and I've played almost every one religiously since 93. And my birthday is Sept. 4th so it's always close to the release date of the game.

Since ratings are based on the previous year, I don't think gomez should be as high as you listed. He should be an 83-85

guess we'll have to wait and see...but i would be shocked if he was higher than a 75. Do you really think Betts is only 2 points below Prucha, or 5 below Straka? Honestly.

31pts in 183 carreer games. sorry but even if you give him 99 for faceoffs & checking it won't bring him up that high having below average offensive ability.

not exaclty easy to get those points when your playing with 4th liners like orr and hollweg your whole career, i know he wasnt specifically with them all the time, but he never played with anyone very good on his line

Did you ever stop to think that he might be on that line for a reason? Maybe he's not good enough to be on a higher line.

If he had played a game in the AHL last season he would have been in it.

Once he plays 1 game though in either league next season he will be added on the first roster update.

Looking forward to this game. The AHL part has really drawn me in. I just hope that they don't skimp too much on the PS2 version since I haven't gone next-gen yet.
