Hi, I need to cut my one50 (composite stick) a few inches and this is the first time I am cutting a composite stick. Is cutting a composite stick is the same as cutting a wood stick? Do you just saw right were you want and dont do anything special right? I know this may seem like a dumb question but I don't have the money of a typical hockey player and I dont want to mess anything up. Thanks

cut it the same but i think if you want it bigger after you cut it you can put the part that you cut off back in the hole but turn that part upside down
one60 is a woodie still. You cut it the same, nothing special to it...just with composites you can add in a plug if you goof up, can't say so with a woodie.
Yep, just take a hacksaw and cut it. I saw a guy at a pro shop use the skate sharpener to touch up the edge a little bit but I just cut it straight, never had a problem.
I use a Dremel with an Emery wheel attachment to cut OPS and a mitre saw to cut wood. I put a piece of contrasting color hockey tape around it as a guide to make sure I cut flat. Then some sandpaper if the edge is ragged.
You can use a hacksaw and a vice grip, but I don't have a vice and it was a real pain to do it by hand.
Alternately most hockey stores will do it for a couple bucks.
Only thing I'd say is if you're using some kind of a saw, make sure your blade will work for plastics. Large teeth for wood will splinter and chop your stick to hell.
I've seen this tool used. It's designed for cutting a fork on a bicycle. Works well. You put it in a normal vise and it ensures a straight cut. Not worth the money if you are just doing one stick though IMO.
