Canada/Russia Super Series Game 7

Hey all, I managed to snag the last ticket available to this game, so i'll be heading up there on the 7th... If any of you have certain players you'd like me to watch I will do a review of sorts. Of course I'll be watching Anisimov and Cherepanov very closely but any requests and i'll try to bring back some news.

Yeah i'll be watching him as well. Very closely, although I am really stoked to see Cherepanov and Anisimov so it's going to be hard to focus on much else lol.

To continue with the thread...

For those that are concerned about the lack of Super Series coverage, I have decided to run an up-to-the-minute game blog for each of the eight Super Series games over on my website. I figure if you can't watch it, you might as well be able to get current game updates with somewhat of a picture of what's going on.

As well, I will update post-game with thoughts on who performed, who didn't and general thoughts from each game.

You can access the blog HERE!

Hopefully this will be seen as a service to you all. If you'd like to post comments live in the blog as it goes or responses in general, you do need to register, which is kind of poor, but free and seperate from the magazine-side of the site.

For those that missed the schedule, it is:

http://www.tsn.ca/canadian_hockey/fe...=2464&hubname=

Mon, Aug. 27 9am TSN & Broadband Midnight ET/TSN
Wed, Aug. 29 9am Rogers Sportsnet & Broadband 7:30pm local/Rogers Sportsnet
Fri, Aug. 31 8am Rogers Sportsnet & Broadband 7:30pm local/Rogers Sportsnet
Sat, Sept. 1 6am TSN & Broadband 7pm ET/TSN
Tues, Sept. 4 8pm TSN & Broadband Midnight ET/TSN
Wed, Sept. 5 8pm TSN & Broadband Midnight ET/TSN
Fri, Sept. 7 10pm Rogers Sportsnet & Broadband 11:30pm MT on RSW and Midnight local on RSP
Sun, Sept. 9 8pm Rogers Sportsnet & Broadband 1am ET on RSE/RSO, 11pm MT on RSW, 11pm PT on RSP

i plan on watching

ive got a hookup from someone who probably wants to remain anonymous. but, hypothetically, if one were to be able to record the games, one might be willing to share them....hypothetically of course...

im a very focused hockey watcher. i can passively watch baseball and post and stuff at the same time, but when im watching hockey, i sorta go into a...i dunno, comatose state where i am 100% focused on the game and nothing else

ill try my best to post though.

yeah, they stream a ton of content on their site, but everytime ive tried to watch it, unless it was on the "nhl network" i was blocked out.

you could try going through proxy servers based out in canada, but they never seem to work right....at least for me

sopcast is still the likely way to go. im hoping its there for everyone to see.

From what I've heard, TSN will only offer this to Canadians. Hence FC doing game blogs. Figure y'all need to know whats going on just like the rest of us.

I'm curious as to the motive to block people outside of Canada. Anyone know?

Bandwidth costs money. Why should TSN pay to stream to people outside of Canada when they're not going to make anything back in advertising revenue?

this explains things

That will include broadband streaming on TSN as well. But a phone call to TSN has given us the official position that they cannot/will not allow non-Canadian IP addresses to watch the stream online. There are ways around this (anyone who has proxy suggestions, feel free to share them in the comments of this post) but as of now, there are no plans for anyone to make the games available outside of Canada.
look at what the guy Shane wrote in the comment section... can that really work? I mean is it even legal

Using proxies does work. And to answer the 2nd question, yes it is legal (simply because it isn't blatently illegal or worth anyone's time to investigate/prosecute since no USA based provider is also trying to sell access). TSN blocks coverage to non-Canadian IPs because they do not have distribution rights outside of Canada. Besides the point, serving American customers has no tangible upside for TSN.

Request: If anyone could capture a full quality feed of the Super Series, most likely someone residing in Canada, PLEASE PM ME. We can work something out and I have the means of distributing it to interested Ranger fans.

Nemchinov benched Cherepanov in the middle of the third period and then put him back on the ice with 4 minutes left.Other than that,Cherepanov saw his regular shifts

The Russians didn't deserve to win this game and it had nothing to do with the allocation of ice time
