I'm not totally sure why we didn't re-sign Belanger, maybe he was asking too much? To be fair though, he had a good couple weeks, but disappeared like the rest of the team in the playoffs and has been a third line player his whole career. DW and the ownership really need to stop picking through the trash for Centers and lock a big FA down next summer or make a trade of some kind for an impact player.

Belanger has the talent for a 2nd liner and the head for a 3rd liner. He'll have flashes of brillinace, but his overall play has and will stop him from doing any better than 3rd liner. He thinks he's a 1st liner and presumably wanted to be paid that way.

We do, but Belanger wasn't the answer, he was a mediocre quick fix.

I think you guys could use a center, I'm just hoping that it doesn't turn out to be Jason Allison. That's one of the strong rumours we have been hearing.

Why not Allison? I know he's slow, he's only 32 yrs old, and put up 60pts in 05-06 season. But I really don't see where he would fit in because we need our first 2 line centers to be fast to keep up with Kovy, Hossa, and Kozlov. Plus he wants to much money, he thinks he's the best center in the game! What a hoot.

Right now, Who do you guys think will be our First and Second line centers?

I think Allison could potentially be a good fit. Kovalchuk, Hossa and Kozlov aren't going to score all their points off the rush, and Allison is absoultely dominant downlow. Not to mention the fact that he is dynamite on the PP, and he could definitely be a bargain for a team a little thin on offensive centers at this point in time.

He will probably be in the A. However he has hired two trainers to work with him this offseason in the hopes of making the squad out of camp. He will need to have one heck of a camp to make the team, Hartley is not a big fan of rookies and the Thrashers will probably have at least 2-3 without him.

You pretty much answered your own question right there. Besides Forsberg, there really isn't any good UFA's you guys could sign.

My guess is you guys are going to go with Kozlov as your 1st line C with Holik and that young kid Little fighting it out for the 2nd line C.

He's been away for a long time, so I would be a little worried about him. But if you guys can get him to camp for a tryout and see how it goes from there.

The Thrashers need
1.) New Ownership
2.) New GM
3.) New coach

before they need another center.

Eric Lindros would be an awesome center for Kovalchuk and a great addition in front of the net on the pp.
