something tells me that if he was playing on the habs, your opinion would be different.

after this season, there's going to be 29 other fanbases that are going to hate lapierre's guts too. Infact, he's already made a bit of a name for himself.

They are are all pros out there. A man to man, with the head down...fair game. But when you pick a player who is engaged with another player, and you come in as a third man and level him... that I call dirty.

I feel the same about Regher's hit on Downey last year. And many of Scott Stevens' hits.

Mano-o-mano=no problem. Blind siding/third man in=cheap
Exactly, fully agree with your post. Also being over agressive and hitting to hurt often also takes one out of the play as well, a bit pointless.

Maybe, but he's not on the Habs and I hate his blind-side hits right to the chin, he does it all the time on players who are already engaged with another hockey player and there's no glory in that, in my mind.

Would love to have this guy in our lineup... a pest who can score, a less skilled Pat Verbeek ? Or even, Esa Tikkanen ?

I also agree with that post. I hate armstrong. He always looks for the cheap blindside shot when a player is already engaged with a different player.

He WILL get his ass kicked this year.

He aims for teh chin every time and he follows through. Watch the hit on Carter and watch his elbow come up to follw through after the hit. He's a POS and I hope he gets his.
