From a Sharks Fan:Thank YOU!

I havent really liked the stars since they are a division rival, but this is honestly the greatest thing they have done. Im so glad someone got the balls to put down another league. Our game is so great, and it doesnt get the recognition it deserves in the states.

Oh and what am i going on about:
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200....ap/index.html

Dallas' new "the only thing we shave is the Ice." ad campaign.

Once again from a sharks fan THANK YOU!

Sweeeet billboard campaign!!! Things that are grounded in the truth are always the funniest and mosy edgy! ESPN and SI both have articles about the campaign on their websites.

Poppap - That campaign is the work of the Door Number 3 ad agency, who also has the Texas Rangers as a client. Pretty comical, considering the shot that one of the billboards takes at baseball. Tom Hicks owns both the Stars and the Texas Rangers.

Several of the other billboards appear here:
http://www.dn3austin.com/work/

In all, 6 of these billboards are now up, and 2 more are expected to go up today. 11 in total will be up by November. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcont...e.2f1ba0a.html

My wife sent Door Number 3 an email last night, expressing her approval.

In baseball there are terms like sacrifice flies, and sacrifice bunts, even though neither one has to do with a physical sacrifice. At least, not nearly in the same way hockey players put their bodies on the line during a game.

Another Shark fan here supporting this. I love it.

To the credit of the other sport representatives, they laughed and took it in stride. Mark Cuban, Tom Hicks (though he has a hand in hockey as well). I'm glad Commish Stern didn't get back on his soap box to spout about how "tasteless" the targeted ads were.

Its all in good fun and should be viewed that way.

Good stuff.. wish the Kings would use some stuff like that instead of "Play Hard" or "We Are The Kings" or "Serious Hockey". It would be smart if the NHL started trying to capitalize of the NBA scandal and their declining ratings.

Either way I could careless. But if the LA Galaxy can get tons of people to buy season tickets for a primmadonna that doesn't even play, I would imagine the Kings and Ducks could get a bigger draw with the right marketing.

Finally Dallas doing something right. I love all three of the billboards and hope this is a sign of things to come.

Maybe this will entice more fans to watch and go to the games. So it wont be just a bunch of old guys in suits at the games cheering everytime Modano touches the puck.
