Blockbuster usually doesn't stock new games for a couple days...depending on how much of my homework for friday I get done tomorrow afternoon during my office hour, I may stop on the way home to see if they have it.
I'm not gonna buy the PS2 version since I'll probably end up upgrading to a 360 for Christmas
Amen PlayMaker... not sure if you are keen on the online play, but lemme know I would be happy to rough you up online.
Just read the review at ign.com and they truly feel its the most realistic hockey game ever. Of course like every video game, its not perfect, but it sounds like its gonna be pretty darn close and it might actually be a challenge winning.
Wow, great write up. And playing online sounds like fun. My handle is PlayMaker77, but I'm still trying to figure out the XBox Live part of the system. I'll send you a PM, when I finally get up & running.
I'm getting it on PS3 tomorrow. Might not be able to play it untill later, but I'm all over this game like syrup on pancakes. NHL2k7 and 2k8 are the only games out (2k8 came out yesterday) and they're both unrealistic arcade types with little intelligence needed. I swear I played the same game in 2k7 every time I played.
I know that won't be a problem with this game as I hear the AI is revolutionary.
I'm more excited than a Freshman watching his first Field Hockey game.
I'm betting you haven't played 2K8... I picked it up yesterday (I'm impatient, couldn't wait a day for 08, but I'll get it soon), and it's much much different than 2K7. It's more realistic, the teams have better AI, and it's a lot harder. I only had time to play 2 games (one on All-Star, one on Pro), and lost both (1-0, 4-1)... Which is a far cry from winning 8-2 on Hall-of-Fame difficulty like in the previous versions.
The controls are a lot different too, and I still haven't quite gotten used to it, but I'm getting there. Unfortunately I'm stuck at work all day, so I'll have to wait until 6 to play again.
I'll have to balance time between this and The Darkness (shweet game)... of course both will be collecting dust once Halo 3 comes out.
I've had my Halo 3 pre-order for over a year.
Yeah, Halo 3 is going to be great... Unfortunately it's going to be a $110 game for me, because I let my Live subscription run out, so I'll have to pay $50 on top of the $60 game price to renew it for another year.
