NHL 08 Ratings - Everyone else has one

http://sports.ign.com/nhl08/stars.html

Highlights:
Matthew Barnaby, Eric Lindros, and Brad Winchester instead of Loui Eriksson and Joel Lundqvist

Marty Turco with 96 passing rating
Sergei Zubov getting some major love from EA - hes like 90+ in everything important - even shot blocking and potential

the rest of our roster is looking pretty pedestrian =/ theres no overall scores but if I had to guess based on rankings:
Zubov - ~95
Turco - ~90
Modano - ~85
Morrow - ~85+
Lehtinen - 80+
Boucher - ~85
Lindros - ~75-80
Barnaby - surprisingly high in almost every catogory

as awesome as he is, zubovs speed is ridiculously overrated. Theyve got him as the second fastest on the team.

Those ratings are pretty retarded, but so is the NHL XX line of games, so no worries.

Someone help me out here ... didn't Lindros walk and Barnaby retire???

Barnaby announced retirement.

The team wimp, Big E is holding on to a glimmer of a hope to get picked up somewhere else.

Lindros was rated 5 points higher on toughness than Captain Morrow.

That figure alone tells me how inaccurate the numbers are.

Besides that's why there's a player editor.
I hope they fixed the part where the players salary changed once you edited them.

That would be pretty inaccurate. If they modeled the Stars offense as scoring 40% of its goals on shots from the blueline, however, they'd be slightly off. More like 60% of the Stars offense was scored from there last season.

Hahhaha yes....but what i meant to say is 40% of shots taken from the blueline result in a goal.

What everyone has to remember that EA pays an outside company to do it's ratings. Obviously, it hasn't been that accurate and I'm not too sure why EA sticks with it. They pay a lot of money for the service.

you don't want to play with the farm team from Iowa any? This way you can make changes to the team, like it happens in real life

sorry to drag up this old thread, but In the absense of anything worth posting, EA Sports has declared us to be the 2nd best team in the NHL going into the season! ;D
The Top 10:
Anaheim: 89OVR, 84OFF, 92DEF, 88GOL - (can you spell over-rated?)
Dallas : 87OVR, 83OFF, 87DEF, 87GOL (our champions! ^^)
Buffalo: 87OVR, 86OFF, 84DEF, 87GOL
Ottawa: 86OVR, 87OFF, 85DEF, 84GOL
San Jose: 86OVER, 86OFF, 83DEF, 86GOL
TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS - 86OVR, 84OFF, 86DEF, 85GOL
Calgary: 85OVR, 84OFF, 85DEF, 87GOL
Detroit: 85OVR, 85OFF, 85DEF, 85GOL
Vancouver: 85OVR, 84OFF, 83DEF, 89GOL
New Jersey: 84OVR, 85OFF, 79DEF, 90GOL

THERE YOU HAVE IT, AS PLAIN AS DAY.
And since these things are always right, we can pretty much write our own ticket to the WCF where we will lose to Anaheim in 4 games with their 92 rated defense =(
next time a LA or St. LOuis mouthbreather tries to argue with you that Dallas will miss the playoffs, just link them to this thread ;D

Since they don't have a backwards skating speed, that's probably the only way they could reflect his skating ability. I honestly can't say that I know how fast he would be in a forward sprint since he rarely gets in that kind of a footrace. I do know that he can skate as fast backwards as most guys can forwards. That's impressive and his best asset when defending.
