Free Hockey in Montréal

Just wondering, does anybody know of places where they offer free hockey in Montréal (or surroundings, i.e. Laval)? Also, how free is the "free" hockey?

I know Ray Bourque aréna offers free hockey during weekdays for 5 $ a day (2 hours), but the free hockey finishes at the end of March. I want to keep playing free hockey during the summer. I heard they have some at the "4 glaces" in Pierrefonds during the summer, but I'm not sure.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Oh, and what level of players usually show up at the places you propose?

During the week, Westmount arena offers free ice time

but you have to call recreation to find out the times as they switch often.

i used to play everyday in Kirkland at the 3 on 3 rink during the summer.

AS well as Bonaventure (514)342-3560 to find out ice times.

Bonaventure is probably your safest bet.

4 glasse in Pierrefond his pretty much everyday, sometimes it's twice a day. Before 5pm it's 5$ and after it's 7$ for 1.5 hours. 2 first goalie it's free. Just call at the arena, it's pretty easy to get information.

Pierrefond Sportsplex's shinny hockey sucks. I've gone twice and both times they had 4 goalies and about 35 skaters.

I would suggest sticking to the South Shore if you want serious hockey. Les 4 Glaces in Brossard is usually the best.

You guys are lucky to even be able to look around for 'free' ice. Out here we have ******* All - and they just tore down our biggest rink! The consolation, I guess, is that I can play golf on Christmas Day for 4 dollars. Still, rather have a free rink like when I was back east.

Is it still really cold at Bonaventure? I remember when i used to practice there that the coachs always get really cold and left during practice to leave use on the ice freezing our butt's off too? that hot chocolate tasted like crap...but the orange julep that was soo good

STILL cold. But look out for the bar with sexy waitresses. Is it still named Pere Gedeon? Or something like that?

I have played at 4 glaces Brossard during last summer and usually the level is very good. Some former QHJML players, AA, BB... usually. Unless I have been THAT unlucky!

I also work at Outremont's arena, and there are some free hockey sessions (7$ I think), but nobody seems to care because I don't recall the last time one player ever showed up. But you gotta believe me that riding the zamboni RUXXORZ your SUXXORZ!
