Thanks, and on top of it all, I'm on the top floor of my house and my wireless is pretty low.

So imagine how much better my thing would be closer to my router.

Is this like real?

If so, how can I access it?

EDIT: In the meanwhile, look at this little gem!

OK, instructions to watch HABS GAME ONLINE! (no joke!):

1) Download Soplayer, just google it.
2) Set it up, run it,
3) Log in (anonymously)
4) Copy one of these addresses into its address bar (ending with /-----):
Code:
sop://broker.sopcast.com:3912/15678 (by NHL3 "Guy") sop://broker.sopcast.com:3912/19897 (by mtl4thewin)
5) Hit "play" in the player and enjoy the game!
6) For a better interface, click on the button that says "External player, or watch in external player" and it'll play in Media Player!
7) Important links:
http://www.myp2p.eu/NHL.htm
http://85.92.128.155/~myp2p/forum/vi...c.php?id=12027
http://85.92.128.155/~myp2p/forum/viewforum.php?id=1338

It might be a little choppy at first though.

THANK YOU moshedw!!!

PS: Mods, I think it'd be a good idea to top this.
ahhh, so you're the reason it's so slow tonight.

I get your point, but hey, try and get the word out, no? Isn't it better that more Habs fans can have access to their games?

At least until RDS unveils their streaming plans online.

Not if everyone having access ruins the feed for everyone entirely. Catch-22.

Gee, that's really looking out for yourself there dude.

That's not a reason for people who can't even get RDS from where they live miss out on a Habs game.

Again, this is only a temporary fix, once RDS announces their online streaming system, that should be EVERYONE's first choice.

Ya, it's selfish. But what's to be gained by "spreading the word" when adding more people slows the feed down, and inevitably will make it pointless for anyone to watch, and therefore pointless for the guys to stream?

The only good that can come of this is hopefully some RDS subscribers will see this is possible, and add their own feed. All you need is some sort of video in device (TV tuner card, All-in-wonder, usb video hub, etc which you can get for under $100) and a computer with a decent upload connection.

I've been watching on sopcast and TVU player since last season, and it's never been so bad as tonight. There was brief time where it was running smoothly, but other than that it's almost unwatchable.

i have been watching the habs since the good ol tvu days. when tvu became really popular, i think if im not mistaken the nhl blocked tvu from streaming games. so your right it would be a better idea to keep things low key.
secondly im no computer network expert, but isnt sopcast p2p so the more ppl watching would not effect the bandwith?
please correct me if im wrong

It is p2p, but more people can also bottle neck everyone with a bad computer or a bad internet connection/if they're downloading anything

I'm studying software engineering and I did some usecase studies to see how to work this situation the best and, based on my expertise, the best method would be to watch the game at la cage aux sports.

This is still the best option for me as computer and me aren't the best friends. While you can go to la Cage and enjoy a great meal with friends.
