Ramo is doing a good job stopping the puck. But the D are awsome at clearing it away.

I really hope Paul Porter just needs a break. This woman announcer has a horrible, whiny voice.

I think they said something about it just being a fan... doing it for pre-season only..

Ramo looked very good tonight. The defense played very well, they are hitting people and standing up at the blueline. Nice change. I am impressed with Brad Richards. He looks much faster than last year. And Marty just bein' Marty is always nice.

I guess I am going to take the minority stance here. Ramo was not impressive to me. Pucks were bouncing off of him where he had no clue where the puck was. Two of the goals he allowed should have been stopped. One shot beat him and trickled *just* wide. He would have gotten lit up like the Rockefeller center Christmas tree by a real NHL lineup tonight. I think he starts the year in Norfolk, and I think he made the decision an easy one for the coaching staff tonight. I may very well be wrong, but that is just my opinion.

Oh, and the video that I posted earlier, if that is the result, it is going to be posted every time now.

That is all.

And boy were the legion many tonight. There probably was an actual legion of Red Wings Fans at the Palace tonight.

Great game though. I'm not sure why they denied the Red Wings that one goal, because it sure as hell looked like a goal to me, but I was happy to actually get two no goals our way for a damn change. Of course that just means we'll get doubly screwed during the regular season.

Marty looked like a pro among amateurs. He made his two goals no problem and they were absolutely perfect top-shelf lasers. He's definitely ready and made it look easy proving it.

Oh and for once I was actually confident in Ramo, like many of you seem to be. Get some actual defensemen out there and he might stand a good chance. That last goal was all on him though, the D played it right, but it was a nice shot—from my angle at least.

They were 2 local radio DJ's. The first one was Nancy Alexander (She did the first period only) She tried to be funny announcing penalties, and it blew up in her face. When Paul Porter came on during the intermission to thank her, she got promptly boo'd.

That was kind of funny, but I kind of felt bad for her.

I do agree with that. I was confident with him, in this situation, but I would have been afraid if it were a real game. You're not the only one who feels that way. Ramo got saved a lot by the D. I definitely wasn't feeling the D. They did finish more checks FINALLY, but they still let a few important ones pass and that first goal was horrendously played.

The team couldn't get out of their own zone a lot either as the game went on, luckily that wasn't with our usual lineup.

This was a fine preseason game, but as a regular game we would have been creamed. Also, the officiating in the first period was terrible. They allowed one delayed penalty situation continue after the puck was touched and they took about 30 seconds to call two obvious penalties. I guess I should be happy that they eventually got it right. Of course there were a few penalties that occurred right in front of linesmen that were missed. And I guess they forgot to call offsides in the third period. Apparently taking a shot on goal is equal to goalie interference. Oh well, c'est la vie.

I wasn't impressed by Brad Richards at all. He made a lot of mistakes that should never be made. Like fanning on a wide open net. He seemed faster, but unable to get anything done by it.

i 100% agree with your comments on ramo... hes just not ready.... i have seen him play 3 times now. and all three he hasnt looked good at all. hes all over the place, loses the puck, bad positioning, and just overall shaky.

he needs to be in norfolk this year. hes nowhere near ready IMO. that 3rd goal was HORRENDOUS.

on the positive end of things.. i liked the play hlavac...he looked smooth and played well within the system... also darche was decent but i think hes just a LITTLE too rough around the edges to make the big roster..... but he would prob be one of the first call ups.

the young dmen didnt do terrible but nothing really stood out to me.

Looked like what we did see last season and probably will see again out of both Johan and Marc all season long.
