Anyhow - I LOVE NHL 08 on the 360. The controls are weird at first, but you get used to it pretty quickly.
Playing defense is as fun as offense... blocking shots, passes, desperate dives... it's all there. And the cycling... the cycling. It's beautiful.
My only complaints so far are that I seem to be taking a LOT of tripping penalties, and being on a PK doesn't really slow down offense. I find myself only clearing the puck on 5 on 3s, and even then only if I'm sure I'm gonna get creamed.
To you guys who don't like it, the best thing I can recommend is that you have to play it like it's the real thing. If you try to hit everything in sight and put yourself out of position, you pay for it. If you try to skate right past a defenseman down the middle of the ice, you'll get pushed off or stick-checked. Take an obvious shot right in front of the net, the goalie is probably gonna get it.
I love it though, and I haven't even started to mess around with creating new plays or any of that stuff. Keep at it!
Well apparently it is just the PS2 version that is a stinking pile of crap
Well, the XBox 360 has been out for over 2 years now, and we're coming on 1 for the PS3. They don't care about previous consoles anymore. The only reason they keep making it is because PS2 is still selling so well. The second the sales drop, you can bet just about every company is going to just move on.
