Hey all you Swedes!
I'm looking for any who've seen Magnus play and am basically looking for a good evaluation. Strengths, weaknesses... speed, puck handling, etc... I've taken a liking to him ever since I read a good couple of articles about him probably 2 years or so ago. I know a lot can and will change before the '09 draft is even before us, but just for kicks, give a little prediction of where you might see him go in that draft.
Mostly I'm just looking for the talent analysis, though.
Thanks if you can provide some info.
Wow, very impressive stuff to hear guys... Does anyone know of a site that consistently updates Swedes' statistics, so I can keep an eye on his progression at least statistically?
He is #23 and had the assist on the first goal in the clip. He is also in front of the goal, blocking the view for the goalie, on the second goal in the clip.
Didn't watch the game, but it seems like an awesome SEL debut for a 16-year-old.
Can anyone explain this 'Artist concept'? I know Majesky has gone to Oulu, Hrdina to Turku and Tenkrat is coming late.
How does it work? Tax issue i guess?
"Spelaren får max vara 183 dagar i Sverige. Spelaren får en nettolön som han inte behöver skatta för. Klubbens kostnad är spelarens nettolön plus artistskatt på 15 procent."
The player can only spend 183 days in Sweden and gets a tax-free salary. The club pays the player's salary plus an artist fee at 15 per cent.
Magnus Pääjärvi was injured tonight, they think it might be a broken arm.
On a happier note the other talented 91' player in Timrå IK, Anton Lander took Fredrik Hynnings (who got injured earlier the same game) place and got an assist in the 2-0 goal (he got the goal at first but it was correctly changed, he did get an assist though)
There seem to be a lot of talanted youngsters in the SEL right now. So when will Frölunda who should have the best ones start to play theirs?
Andersson is on a loan(3 points in 4 alsvenskan games so far), Eller is injured, Bodker gone to CHL, Larsen is playing, Hjalmarsson started the season at Frolunda J20.

That's a real shame. Hopefully it doesn't turn into anything too severe. Another Swede doesn't need to fall out of favor the way Backlund did.
