Question FOr Northern VA'ers

I figuered I post here, for those of us with COX
-Are we getting the NHL Network Free Preview?
-Will we also receive Network after?

I read Cox is adding channel 248 in Northern VA as the NHL Network Oct 30, but I also read some providers are offering a preview of the network starting Oct 1.
I'm a little confused, thanks.

Also is there an NHL Network offical website, I could not find one.

I have cox in NOVA. I think we'll see the NHL network tomorrow instead of the 30th.

From an email I got from cox I thought we would be getting the free preview of NHL center ice starting today but doesn't look like that is true either.

Anyone have info on Comcast? I should call them, but I haven't seen anything anywhere about NHL Network or Center Ice.

From what I think is that they meant Oct. 30th and not Sept 30th/Oct 1st. I did notice that the NHL Center Ice starts this Wednesday and is a free for everyone for a week or a little less.

You'll find NHL Center Ice around 685 or so on wednesday. NHL Network not till Oct 30th on chan 248.

Any reason why they are making us wait a month?

Don't know...but if I had to guess Cox is sweating Direct TV and all the high def TV chans they are adding. All the cable monopolys are sweating bandwidth. On high def chan takes the space of 7 analog channels. Supposedly Cox was testing some new tech in September that would allow them to broadcast one chan at a time rather than all the channels simultanesously like cables do right now. Cox has stated they wanted to add 20 HD channels by the end of this year and I believe they've added about three.

Ok I believe I'm officially a high def nerd after that paragraph.
