Props to Steckel for making the team...he really showed up for camp. Good stuff. Same for Flash, Green, and Schultz.
strung... I thought he had an ankle issue in the off-season and that's why he got into the pre-season games late?

I'm looking forward to watching the younger guys make a difference this year, in a positive way!

Good news about the guys making the roster and no surprise about Eminger; about Steckel and corporate housing that should not be a surprise either, his waiver exemption doesn't expire until later in the season when he hits the games played threshold (note: I'll update the contracts thread tonight), here's to Steckel continuing to earn that roster slot!

Strung - I'm missing the humor again, was the comment about Eminger's thumb a joke? Sutherby is the one with the hand/thumb injury from last season; Eminger's injury was rumored to be his ankle

PSU - The message about Klepis has been the same all along; if he stays unsigned, he is RFA and the Caps retain his rights.

Klepis can sign and play in Europe if he chooses as noted above; also, the Caps can trade his rights, release his rights, or they can sign him and send him via waivers to Hershey (just to give Strung nightmares) if they want to use a contract slot on him to have him in Hershey if he clears waivers; if they sign him and lose him on waivers (Strung celebrates).

So my guess to the Defense Pairs is...

Poti - Green
Mo - Juice
Schultz - Pothier
Erskine (replacing schultz for "rough" games)
Eminger comes off the IR if another D gets hurt though he might still be scratched.

And the forwards...

We know the top 9...
Brashear - Steckel - Laich
Suts and Bradley in the press box.

I like it. It's nice to have depth. Clark can fill in for a top 6 winger. Steckel moves up to take his place. Suts comes in for 4th line duty.

Definite improvement from last year!

My apologies. I'm getting my fringe player injuries mixed up.

ha, no kidding, but I guess this does bring the purpose of the rookie camp/training camp thread to a close......a 23 player roster plus 2 players starting on IR.

I'll update the roster/contract thread tonight adding the recent updates.

19 more replies, well I guess it's 18 now, would just bring this thread to a conclusion anyway, right?

Not to me either. My 3 were always Klepis, Clymer, and Bradley. Just throwing that out there for the masses.

I agree....didn't Suts have 2 goals in preseason in limited action? I think we could see a surprising year out of him.....perhaps a bit of a comeback season after a dismal one last year.

I totally agree....I think they will use the first 10-15 games as an evaluation period before a trade is seriously pursued (or roster moves).

Congrats to Steckel and Green. I think Strung and I were the early predictors of him (Steckel) making an impact this year, after some games in the NHL late last season.

For the most part, we all agree on everything. Our threads are gonna be boring this season.

Reinstate Tinner. I'd love to hear his early impressions of Poti.
