If it's corportate housing instead of a lease then I'm sure the organization still has it's questions about him over the full length of the season.
Therefore makes trading Suts now no longer an option IMHO ie a 'moooo' point
Good news about the guys making the roster and no surprise about Eminger; about Steckel and corporate housing that should not be a surprise either, his waiver exemption doesn't expire until later in the season when he hits the games played threshold (note: I'll update the contracts thread tonight), here's to Steckel continuing to earn that roster slot!
Strung - I'm missing the humor again, was the comment about Eminger's thumb a joke? Sutherby is the one with the hand/thumb injury from last season; Eminger's injury was rumored to be his ankle
PSU - The message about Klepis has been the same all along; if he stays unsigned, he is RFA and the Caps retain his rights.
Klepis can sign and play in Europe if he chooses as noted above; also, the Caps can trade his rights, release his rights, or they can sign him and send him via waivers to Hershey (just to give Strung nightmares) if they want to use a contract slot on him to have him in Hershey if he clears waivers; if they sign him and lose him on waivers (Strung celebrates).
Eminger is the one that would be most likely to be moved...not Sutherby. In my opinion.
I agree....didn't Suts have 2 goals in preseason in limited action? I think we could see a surprising year out of him.....perhaps a bit of a comeback season after a dismal one last year.
George McPhee....The Teflon GM. 15 years of failure and counting....
6 - Number of playoff series the Capitals have won since George McPhee took over as General Manager in 1997 (which makes him the third-longest-tenured GM in the League), three of which came in McPhee's first season on the job.
Heh, well this gives the club some early games this season to see if Flash can hang as well as if Steckel is the real deal. Eminger on IR gives them time on evaluate on the D side. Once he comes off the list they could send down Schultz.
I totally agree....I think they will use the first 10-15 games as an evaluation period before a trade is seriously pursued (or roster moves).
Congrats to Steckel and Green. I think Strung and I were the early predictors of him (Steckel) making an impact this year, after some games in the NHL late last season.
