I was just on TBL.com and the poll question was asking who will the lighting have the most trouble with in our division. The Thrashers was the team chosen. But in my opinion i've always seen the Panthers to play us the hardest. What do you guys think?

People who say Atlanta really must not watch many games. Sadly, it is Florida.
With Atlanta we go back and forth.... with the Canes we go back and forth with, tho we come out on top more often... with FL they kick our butts almost everytime... kinda like us with the Pens... So I would have to go with them as our biggest rivals in the SE anyway...
I was going to say washington only because we have the one playoff series agaisnt them. But yeah I have to agree with Florida, not so much now that Luongo is gone (thank you vancouver.) but Jokinen seems to score at least once agauinst us when we play them. Oh how i so want someone to flatten him and injure him just enough to miss the rest of the game.

No. We are their playoffs/Stanley Cup. They can get run out of arena's night after night by other teams, and they always come to play against us. They can have success against us and struggle the rest of the year. It has happened numerous years in the past, unfortunately.
Imho the Panthers will do better this year. If they can find some way to start good for once instead of limping out the gate, and stay steady, they will make the postseason. That said, I think they finish 2nd. It will all depend on how deep the scoring goes for Florida, and how they click together.
As for why they are our toughest rival, I honestly think it is because they get up for the games a bit more, and seem to play a style that can be difficult for us to counter. Last year, I can't tell ya how many times they took us off the puck and disrupted our rythm. That's how you slow our offense down partly, and they do a great job of it.
Truth be told though, I'm hoping we take at least 5 from them, hopefully 7-8. Realistically, I could see us going 4-3-1 or 4-2-2 against them.

I know, but honestly i don't like anything about them, I hate their team, their fans, the ugly uniform, the arena, I can go on and on........
We are their Stanley cup, they can suck against everybody, but at least they're happy that they always beat us.
