Thanks. Great gdt.

Also just received this email from the Preds re 1/2 price tickets Saturday. I love this because it shows the Preds are willing to eat some profit to get bodies into the building, which helps the 14k goal. I had been afraid they wouldn't do any of these promotions:

Half Off Predators Tickets

As a Predators Season Ticket holder, we want to offer you the opportunity
to add seats to your account for the Saturday, October 6th game against the
Dallas Stars for HALF OFF your season ticket rate! This is a savings of up 62%
off of the gate rate and they are only offered to our most loyal fans, our
season ticket holders.

This offer is only valid for lower level seat purchases and does not apply to
seats previously purchased.

To take advantage of this offer go to the Sommet Center Box office and
reference your Season ticket holder account number or call 615-770-2355.

Thank you again for your continued support!

GOAL!!!! Hamhuis with a nice cross-ice redirect. Good hustle by Legwand and Erat to set it up

hey predhead1 is hammer playing aggressively in the offensive zone? It sounds like he is stepping up into a lot of shots on the radio.

He's not playing too aggressively, just making smart reads on when to jump into the play. He had a couple of prime chances before finally converting.

The D looks average overall. a little sloppy at times, but that's to be expected in Game One. They have done a very good job of controlling Stastny and Sakic so far. Stastny was unstoppable last night against Dallas.

3-0 after 2. I so dont want to go to work now...

Ah well here is hoping the preds can keep up the effort in the 3rd and give preds fans, particularly those in nashville, something to smile about as its been a crappy couple of days.

Lets go Preds!

Two pretty good periods so far. Team still looks like we've got a decent amount of speed and we're doing a good job of controlling the play. Zids missed some time after taking a high stick but came back. Weber's status to be reevaluated tomorrow.

Great D by Suter - Smyth, as fast as he is, couldn't get around Suter down the wing.

wow am I pleasantly suprised! Mason was great although very lucky at times.

The chemistry between Arnott and Dumont is magic.

Just got back from the game. Once the intro video started on the new scoreboard (which looked fantastic!), I stopped worrying about the offseason mess. The Predators played above my expectations. However, we were playing against a pretty tired Avs team. Even so, you could see how good their offense is (even though they didn't pick up a goal). The Smyth, Sakic, and Hedjuk line were giving us fits.

We looked very sloppy, especially with neutral zone passes. Of course you almost expect some sloppiness and errant passes, but not like that. We were really lucky to not give up a few goals after terrible give aways. Fiddler had his best pass of the night setting up a Colorado odd man rush.

Radulov looked pretty lost out there, hopefully Trotz still doesn't think he'll find his game with Gelinas and Bonk. Ortmeyer looked good defensively, but had no business being on a line with Erat and Legwand. Gelinas and Bonk are smart players, which they need to make up for their lack of speed; I liked their defensive play however. Arnott and Dumont were money tonight. Scott Nichol was back to his usual self and was lucky that the refs missed a few calls.

Our defense looked better, especially Hamhuis. de Vries looked better then he did in Atlanta last year. Zanon was fantastic.

Great goaltending from Mason.

We played pretty sloppy against a tired team; hopefully its just the first game thing. We gave away alot of pucks; however we did a much better job of stealing pucks and backchecking.

Anyway, nice to get the win to start the season. It was sure nice to see some hockey after the offseason from hell.
