To Vancouver: Mike Van Ryn & Michal Repik
To Florida: Luc Bourdon & Aaron Miller
that migt work for the canucks but it's horrible for the panthers. fills zero needs while creating a couple of new ones. we lack scoring wingers - not only on the roster but in the system as well. dealing repik is not an option especially after his impressive camp.
if we deal van ryn, it's for a scoring winger, not a project/prospect defensman and an aging 5th-6th guy. no dice.
something around a package of Clowe/Bernier and Davison for VanRyn and a late pick 3rd-4th Round could be very interesting for both clubs. VanRyn would instantly step in as the #3 man behind Rivet and Vlasic to solidify our top 6. Clowe or Bernier would make a great 2nd-3rd line scoring winger. Davison can step in in key times when injuries hit.
i'd be tempted for bernier - not so sure about clowe.
Van Ryn would be a nice fit in Boston. I've read so far Florida fans mention a wing, a defenseman who's good on the PK and an enforcer. Well, the B's are pretty deep at forward and Bochenski is the odd man out of the lineup right now, although there's talk that Chiarelli is trying to move Axelsson to make room for him, so one of those two players is available. Andrew Alberts is a young, fast, rugged defensive defenseman that the B's use as a #4, but is best suited to be a #5 at this stage of his career. He's also excellent on the PK. And we had a rookie tough-guy make the team, which has made last year's enforcer, Jeremy Reich available.
Would a package of Axe or Bochenski, Alberts and Reich get it done?
I would love to see Van Ryn in a Flames uni, but they'd have to take back a defenseman. He'd slot in nicely in the #5 role, with the potential to play a greater part down the line.
Mike Van Ryn and Ville Peltonen for Rhett Warrener and David Moss.
Warrener for Van Ryn maybe, but im not so cool on letting up Peltonen so easily. He means more to our team than skill I would say, being from Finland and so is Olli. Im also not too interested in David Moss.
