Most of his goals, the Sedins did the work! Lazy player Carter is, and is also stupid.

Agree with this post. He has the size and skill to be a 30 goal guy every year, but the guy never battles for pucks(loose or in front of the net) or hardly ever drives to the net. He's so non-physical, he makes/made Eric Daze look like Eric Lindros.

Notice how most of those goals were scored on back door plays, where he wasn't covered, and didn't have to do any of the dirty work?

Nobody will deny the guy's got talent, but he COULD BE so much better of a player if he just learned that he wasn't Pavel Bure and was actually a pretty strong, tough, guy.

Exactly. Look at who does all the work on that line, Henrik or Daniel, not Carter.

Carter is prob wising now he took Nonis deal last year, he would have a better leverage this year as well. He just proved everybody what they already knew. The Twins carried Carter, and he should have just ridden that train to the bank!

Interesting to see the Sedins stepped it up last year without Carter, or better yet, look at them since thier rookie year. They have had a different partner every year, from Klatt to Bertuzzi and Naslund at times, Linden, Pyatt, Carter etc and have stepped it up every year, despite the lack of a regular linemate year after year.

I was hoping he'd make it.

Despite last season and his inconsistency, I think he'd still be a decent addition to our line-up.

That would be a negatory. He doesn't have a hope of making the Oilers.

Two years ago he thought he was worth..what...like $3-4M a year. Now he's not even worth $450K? Carter and his agent weren't the most enlightening combination.

The Flyers were trying to sign him last offseason, thank God he didn't sign. That would have been another Clarke blunder.

This is a textbook case of why those people who claim "you ALWAYS take the money" are wrong. By all accounts he loved Vancouver, had a chance to play with a good team and feed off the Sedins. For many that would be an ideal situation, but he sold it out for 700K.

If he'd taken the 1.8m offered and then signed a series of 1 year deals with small raises after decent years with the Sedins, he'd be looking at something like this:

1.8
2.0
2.2 etc

Instead he's
2.5
?? (450K if he gets signed)

Hes seems like a perfect pickup for the Canucks?

Gotta wonder why they wernt interested at ~$450?

I guess the typical "that ship sailed". A lot of people on the Canucks board would love to have him as he's a quick, cheap stopgap.

I like to think Nonis has higher expectations than a stopgap. He's ONLY useful on a line with the Sedins, and if there's a better fit for a more dynamic scoring line then you basically put Carter in the press box.

Cheap insurance.

Likely th eCanuck GM has an axe to grind. Good abit of spite your own face looks good on the Canucks.

There's nothing on anyone's face but Anson's. We've got several options for that line while he's out of the league.

I'm still laughing that he came to Columbus & looked out to lunch! He was sold to us by DMGM as a great pick-up & 30 goal scorer! Turns out he was just a big dumb pylon!!!

Not only that, but Washington picked up half of Jagr's salary as part of the deal!
