I think he'll retire or stay one more year with Anahaim.

A good source told me today, that Teemu has become a bit fat over the summer. If its true he has about ten kilogram more now.

Don't count me on it, it was me just told.

He was at the ducks rookie tournament and looked like he was in really good shape.

I saw some pic from his boat party, which was not that long ago, he did not look like he had added any weight at all, more like the opposite.

Nah, Teemu has too much talent to be a Leaf.

If he starts sucking ass, then maybe he'd be Leaf material.

Not particularly a comment to you alone, but I think it is great how that guy was written off two years ago, noone wanted him on their team and now he is somewhat coveted.

Yeah 76 goals in a rookie season can do that.

Shark's announcer speculating that both Selanne and Neids will back.

http://sharks.nhl.com/team/app/?serv...ticleid=338818

I agree that this is the most likely scenario for the both of them.

I think they'll come back earlier than that. If its that late they may not be very effective for the playoffs. Burke will work out the salary cap somehow.

They're both going to come out of retirement and they will both play over there with the ducks, because it is their prerogative.
First thin I noticed in that post....

imo they can take as much time as they need, if the ducks are willing to take them back (which they are) then why rush it. Any team would be stronger with 2 players of their level added....I'm sure Burke has had worse problems than how to fit 2 All Stars under the cap.

Yeah. I was right at the stage where I was really taking a huge interest in hockey. I was young, 10 or 11, and I was watching Mogilny, Bure and Selanne.

That year, those 3 players. It's what sealed the deal for me.

the fact that both teemu and nieds are just going to come back half way through the season shows you what a joke the NHL regular season is. When 57% of the teams make the playoffs, and the only homeice advantage is one game in a 7 game series (and a home ice advantage has statistically been rather weak anyway) why waste effort and energy on the regular season at all. The Ducks are way to talented to miss the playoffs who cares if they are 1-8 seed. And now that they'll have nieds and selanne healthy and rested they will be practically unstoppable.

Roger Clemens does the same thing.

Claude Lemieux did the same thing.

Its not something that happens all the time. In this case, Selanne and Nieds haven't even decided for sure to return (that we know of).

A lot of people are whining and complaining, but its not uncommon for players in many sports to join mid-season.

Its also not uncommon for players to hold out to force a trade or contract extension, only to rejoin after one side caves mid-season or the player gets traded.

Only difference here, is the Selanne isn't really a threat to sign with another team, as he has repeatedly said its Ducks or nothing.

Not to mention, ANY NHL team can wait until 1/2 way through the season or the trade deadline, and acquire a player that doesn't fully hit the cap space.

You make it sound like 57% is a lot. Hello, almost half the league misses the playoffs, including some *excellent* teams each year.

Here's some news on Teemu...

All charges on Selanne were dropped today in a Finnish criminal court. The case was about a boating accident a year ago. This time it wasn't speed-freak-Teemu himself who crashed, but his buddy who didn't have proper license for the yacht. Nobody died or anything, some minor injuries to people on board.

Go Teemu go!

My point exactly.

If Teemu were to ever call Chicago up and say he wanted to play for the Hawks....they would make room no matter what.
