Could someone please indicate to me the likely matchups and scheduling for the ECAC playoffs? I understand the games are scheduled for March 5,6,7 on campus sites, but is it home ice? How many teams make it?
All 12 teams make it. However, teams ranked 5-12 played in the "preliminary" round on the dates you mentioned in a best of 3 series. The winners will take on the top 4 teams who earned byes and will have home ice in the second round on the following weekend.
The ECAC is a real dogfight right now. With one week left in their regular season, even the top 4 teams are not quite yet set. If memory serves me correct Colgate, Brown and Dartmouth have nailed down a top four spot....but it's not yet known WHERE exactly they will be until after this coming weekend when the ECAC regular season concludes.
As for TV coverage, the only coverage I'm aware of right now is that CSTV will carry the conference championship game on March 20th.
