Scatchard?

Well with Dubi being KO'ed by richardson, who foresees him being in the next game and if so what kind of contract do we give him? Cant be much, but I can see Sather bringing him in now to center the third line. Dont really know how I feel about it, but I guess a lot will ride on how Dubi fares...

Right or wrong I think we'll be seeing Scatch in the line-up by Nov 1st...

No thanks... Scatchard hasn't played real hockey in a while either so its not like he'll just be able to step in.

If they were going to do anything, they may as well bring up Anisimov for a few games. And that is even if Dubinsky isn't fine.

No thanks on Dawes... His skill level imo exists somewhere in between Hartford and New York.

Straka can play center technically but is much better on the wing... Leave him there and don't change a few lines to suit one line.

sadly I agree with you.. for better or worse... who knows what he might have in the tank but I would rather see Dawes come up and move straks to center like NYROrtsfan suggests...

Dawes-Drury-Jagr
Shanny-Gomez-Prucha
Cally-Straka-Hossa
Orr-Betts-Hollywood

id rather trade some prospects for someone like Brian Rolston who is an UFA.

Maybe something like Mara, Pock, Dawes and Baranka for Rolston and Foy.

Rolston would be the perfect 3rd line centre for this team. He has a cup.

no... i'm not.. Dawes can finish plays and that is where he should be if he comes up..

you think he will play well on a 4th or 3rd line.. I don't think so...

its not like our Offense is lighting the lamp up right now and putting him up there isn't the craziest idea in the world... it makes more sense then signing Scatchard

i agree, scatch is old and injury prone, id rather sign jason allison before Scatchard, he scores more.

before I would even look elsewhere, I would look at Hartford IMO.

Dawes is first on the list and deserves a shot with solid minutes.. even if he switches on and off with Hossa for his spot on the first line, he deserves time there to show what he can/can't do...

i agree, i was being sarcastic. id rather look at hartford but if sather want another vet, then a guy like rolston would be the perfect fit. id rather trade some kids then sign scatch or allison.

solely for the sake of being different:

Shanahan Drury Jagr
Prucha Gomez Callahan
Dawes(Avery) Straka Hossa
Hollweg Betts Scatchard

1-Dubinsky is fine
2-The Rangers have indicated they will continue to monitor Scatchard until Wednesday and then make a decision

Quote:
And regarding Scatchard, the free agent who skated with the Rangers for a second day as a tryout, Tom Renney sounded as if he views the veteran center as bound for Hartford as an insurance policy against an injury at the NHL level rather than as a way to bump rookie Brandon Dubinsky out of the lineup.

Thank you, nobody is going to pull off any major trades this early in the season and especially not a teams that is 4-0!

Most under rated guy in the West. Also most powerful fantasy player in years past. Logged at all 3 forward positions!

He's not getting traded. At least not this early in the game.

Dubinsky losing a fight means he's on the way to Hartford? Orr lost his too. How about him? It's not a disgrace to lose a fight--I actually like that Dubinsky gets involved--shows he has character--and Richardson is a strong guy and an experienced fighter.

Scatchard would be a good depth / veteran signing. Yes he has been hurt, but this kind of signing would be a 1 year deal, at $475T. He's big, good on faceoffs and is a physical forward will a decent amount of skill, something we need.

well he is an ufa, maybe at midseason or towards the deadline, I can see him being moved. This is the type of trade Sather should make at the deadline.

just stop

Rolston is a key player for the Wild, and they are going for the playoffs. How can you see him being moved?

Scatchard gets signed and sent to Hartford, Dubinsky ices his jaw and plays on Thursday.
