This might be a stupid question, but they have the new Jerseys with the player's name on them up for order, and with Jagr's there's no C. Will there be a C on it if you order it?

Yeah, who do they think they are, the NFL?

Actually doesn't look too bad. Is this any different than what Drury was wearing? BTW, on NHL.com they have Shanny, Lundqvist, Drury, Gomez and Jagr for $150 instead of $170. Apparently it looks like certain players will have jerseys for less money than a normal custom.

Note: I'm not too crazy about the amount of white at the bottom of the road jersey.

I think those are replicas. The word on the street was that authentics would be in the $250-$300 range.

Oh yeah, they're definitely replicas. Authentics are $250 for blank and $330 for custom.

Wait a second, these aren't like the ugly jersey that Drury was wearing with the gigantic lettering. What am I missing here?

Theres some player reaction to the jerseys over on sams blog

Drury likes them, Shanny, Avery and Orr dont. Jagr doesnt really care and Henrik likes them which is good to hear.

Lately alot of teams have been complaining because they rip too much. Im sure the equipment managers will doctor them up the way each players likes them.

I know when i played i HATED tight jerseys.

On Zipay's blog, Renney had this to say about the new jerseys (I think someone mentioned this on the GST or elsewhere):

Quote:
On a related topic, Renney said he'll be speaking to other coaches to determine the effects of the new stretchy, form-fitting Reebok jerseys when players get into fights. The Devils' Cam Janssens will need surgery on his dislocated right shoulder after a second brawl with Philly's Jesse Boulerice the other night.
Not only does the snug fit jersey prevent a combatant from holding on---as the blousy ones did---there may be a problem with the tie-down on the inside back that stopped a jersey from being pulled over an opponent's head. The ties---or the material---may be ripping, and Renney said he was concerned about some players being more defenseless against more experienced scrappers.

My guess if this kind of thing with either a fighter going down with an injury like Janssens' or guys getting pummeled becasue they can't get out of the jersey, than we'll see a return to baggier jerseys next year. Maybe same basic materail and style, but more traditonally cut.

See this is what they should have done. The new material is the most important part of these jerseys from a Hockey point of view. The fact that they absorb sweat and such so they aren't as heavy late in the game.

Why they couldn't just use this material while keeping the old style is something that I just don't understand. I think everyone should either stick to buying old jerseys from last season or wait at least until next year to make sure these things even stick. Plus with the Rangers jerseys hardly changing, there isn't too much of a rush for us to switch as long as they still offer customization of the traditional jerseys.

i was watching the game last night when my girlfriend pointed out something that was absolutely hysterical. the islanders look like they are wearing swimmys. i mean, they are islanders, so obviously they are surrounded by water. its just good to know that they are safe if the ice ever happens to melt.

Do the Retail versions of the Authentic Jerseys have rounded bottoms as well?

Or better yet, why not stop fighting altogether?

I don't think the jerseys look that bad, I just can't stand the rounded bottoms.

I think the Rangers jerseys look good. I saw the white ones live on Saturday. Mainly because they're virtually unchanged. That's probably why I like them

was a rumor. talking about it for next year. That would suck. Personally I think teams should be allowed to choose which color sweater they want to wear at home and on the road.
