I think the Pens would be arguably the most obvious Lidstrom choice in the entire league.

Pittsburgh with Lidstrom and another year of development by Crosby, Staal, Malkin, Fleury and Whitney would be devastating.

As a Sabres fan, I definetely would pick Lidstrom. I would even take Lidstrom over Crosby for just a season.

Besides, I don't think Thornton would be able to produce at his current level with 4th line minutes:

Centers: Crosby-Malkin-Staal-Thornton

Ummm...what?

Joe Thornton would instantly be moved to 2nd line. They'd put Malkin and Staal at wing to make room for Thornton, not the other way around.

Id take Thornton, just so I could laugh at having 2 of the top 4 centers in the league on one team.

Then Detroit would laugh during the palyoffs when Lidström singlehandedly contains them both

Like he did in their only match-up last year.

Lidstrom's great but he's not perfect.

Avs take Lidstrom. Wow that would be a nice unit for offense from the defensemen.

This is a really neat poll. I'm gonna go with Thorton for the Oil. Maybe kinda redundant to have him passing back and forth to Hemsky but the need for a number one center is their most obvious hole.

But then again the Oil saw what a stud dman can do to an average team.
