Predators Bag Skated after Calgary Loss

The Preds got a well deserved bag skate this morning Herb Brooks style on their scheduled day off....

I can't say how pleased I am about that.

Somebody had to take control of this team, and I guess if you don't have the manpower bodies to sit someone's arsse or their are too many who have been sucking up the place. Too many who want to play their own brand of hockey instead of what they are being told by the coaches......then a Bag Skate is certainly an attention getter.

Being shown how bad you sucked on video last night, then bag skated for 90 minutes might just be the cure.
Admittedly it is a desperation move by Trotz......it seems to be evidence that the players [or certain players in particular] were tuning out the coaches.

Maybe while the Preds are rubbing IcyHot on their legs tonight, they should re-read this article that was done to start the year talking about the identity of this year's team.

Awesome. Full marks to Trotz for hitting them with it and full marks to those players who seemed to understand it. I understand we will lose games and will get blown out at times but I have a hard time watching back to back games like that and feeling sorry for them.

We needed it. We are losing our identity, and Trotz needs to regain control of this team. I think he made the right decision with Arnott as the captain, but everything else is not working right now.

I like how your players responded well to it, "grueling but we deserved it."

We will see how well they respond to it when we start our west coast swing this week.

Perhaps this will fix the working hard issue.

Now we need something to turn Fiddler, Smithson, Tootoo, Hordichuk, Nichol, de Vries, and Koistinen into players who actually deserve to be skating in the NHL.

When de Vries is in position I think he makes great decisions and can protect the puck. The problem is when he's not in position, he's too slow to get there, and misses the opportunity. As for the others, well, ocassionally God answers prayers. We'll see.

God answers prayers, sometimes the answer is simply no.
For example:

Will you help Toots to score 20 goals this season? NO.
Will you bless Trotz with an extra inch of neck overnight? NO.
Will you move Ballsillie to buy the Wings and relocate them to Hamilton? Maybe.
Really?! NO.

Thanks. I needed that.

Now for the mourning, because it's all true.
