sorry to say, look at the last 2 years + this season, whenever this dude is out...we lose.

he's got those mad +/- skills I cant explain it any further then that

+/- isn't really the most helpful stat of all. In all those games it was a team effort, a single player doesn't change that. However, looking at the past 2 seasons or so it certainly does seem like a valid stat.

It could be a whole plethera of things.

Influence on the players maybe. Maybe the guys in the locker room are really close to him. Maybe he has a bigger influence than we think.

Maybe he's actually a pretty good player. His breakout passes are important to the offense and Jagr's line. He plays pretty steady D for the most part, but is prone to making stupid mistakes.

Rozsival plays his best when he plays with Malik since that's who he's used to.

Who knows, it could be anything.

thats the main problem with MM - consistency. He can do things well and play solid, but when he makes mistakes they're usually monumental and people dont forget that.

he needs to add some consistency to his game. Thats what grat players have...a good level of consistency... for example, you know you'll never beat Pronger one on one easily, it takes alot every time - but sometimes people just glide past Malik.
