Time to put Vally in?

If there is a better place for this to be discussed I apologize and please move it.

Ok, basically what I'm suggesting is that perhaps the lack of Lundqvist will maybe make them focus more on putting the puck in the other net. There is very little doubt in most people's minds the Lundqvist is one of the only few earning their green thus far in the season, and I wouldn't want to break any kind of "roll" or "streak" that he is on, but, the old mentality is that when team have their back-up in they work that much harder. Of course its a risky move especially because they have the Pens next so maybe they can do what I'm suggesting afterwards lol. I just think that if they put Vally in net and use that mentality of Lundqvist wont bail us out they will be forced to work. Ideally for me I would have liked seeing Vally in net for Atlanta, reason being is they were 0-6 and the Rangers could have definitely worked harder. And I feel like Vally will cause them to do so. Also I know that there is a flip side and that is that if they dont work harder, they could lose even more than they are now but with all the line juggling, why not.

I understand what you are saying, but i think its a bad idea. Everyone is getting on renney for constantly changing the lines to create emergency chemistry, when he really needs to leave the lines alone for more than a 20 minute period for it to naturally develop on its own between players. Taking henri out will just cause more havoc and unease.

horrible idea. thanks to lumpy we have at least come close to winning. With vally we would be down 5-0 after the first.

I think it may have the exact opposite result, causing them to be a bit more gunshy and further sacrifice offense to help Vally out.

very bad idea. This team has a bad goalie we are in the gutter, no joke, henrik is the only reason we've somewhat been in games, take him away = bad

Yeah, put Vally in. That way when he lets in some softies it'll kill the team's spirit even more

Don't really see Vally scoring any goals

Put valley in when Hanks needs some rest. Besides that, hell no.

I think Vali should get a start soon. Dont wanna burn Henrik out. I would do it on Saturday vs. Toronto.

Jeez you would have though I said to trade Lundqvist. I understand that without Lundqvist in net they are in a poor place but they have only won two games, something needs a shake up why not try it out I'm very familiar with who can and cannot score goals but this team needs to find some motivation and it doesn't seem to be coming from anywhere else at the moment, so why not try it out. Also just to put it out there I am far from on the ledge and far from saying that the season is anywhere near over, but I think we all can agree that things aren't going to plan just yet.

Personally I'm more inclided to put one of the top goalies in the NHL in net than hope for a concentration boost from a guy I'm not even sold on as an NHL backup.

No doubt. Listen I'm not a Vally advocate, obviously by my user name and such I'm a big Lundqvist fan, but the team needs a boost and my theory is that they know why they have the 4 points they have and that is because Henke has saved the more times then we care to count. So maybe knowing Henke isn't there will give them more of a sense of urgency.

I'm more inclined if the team starts scoring then reaches a point where they start tappering off. But if they aren't scoring, I think Lundqvist is one thing that gives them a fighting chance.

To me a move like makes better sense if they team won it's first 4 games and then lost 2 or 3 in a row. It'd serve as a wake up call and get them back on track.

How many games do we expect Henrik to start this regular season? 70+? Thats a tough workload to handle, especially if we expect him to be playing at his highest level deep into the playoffs.

Not saying he can't do it but I would hate to see him burned out in late April/early May

I'd say about 70-72. Which isn't that bad for a goalie in his third NHL season.

It depends on the schedule, the number of shots, etc.

I think Lundqvist could do it if the defense stays good.

I think its about time that valley gets a game. Personally I don't like him or think he's any good but lundqvist can't play erry game. I don't even think its about a focus thing or wake up call, he needs a game to spell lundqvist

No Vally in the games VS Devils, Toronto or Tampa,, because i´m coming all the way from Sweden to cheer for the Rangers and Lundqvist in those 3 games

7 games in the season and only one back to back and henrik needs a 'break'? Maybe only cause hes been saving the teams ass from a massacre in everyone....

Simple answer to the thread question: No.

We're not scoring any goals, so our margin for error is very slim. Lundqvist doesn't need the rest and Vally won't score goals for us.

Ok well it was a suggestion, one thing we can all agree on is this team needs a kick in the butt and I was just making a suggestion. Hopefully Renney can motivate these guys to get going soon. Again I dont think they are doomed or the season is but I just want some wins already! lol

The problem is that there's never a good time to put Valiquette in. He's big and awkward, and always looks shaky in goal. Hard to believe that this is the best they can do for a backup...
