Armchair GM

Hey guys,

I am doing this at the crazy house site and was wondering if anyone would have any interest in messing with this here.

The gist is to take over as the GM of the Blues prior to the draft and create a 23 man roster based on trade w/ a cap of 45 million. I have set the ground rules in the attached link.

This is more of an exercise and I am kind of bored, but I wanted to see what people come up with.

=======
To Anaheim: Pavol Demitra, 3rd in 04 (pick acquired from buffalo)
To St. Louis: Petr Schastlivy, Jason Krog, 1st in 04, 2nd in 05
Reasoning: Demitra is an elite talent. Schastlivy has not lived up to any expectation and is nearing 25. Krog is 28 and not exactly an impact forward. Is the first too much? Can Anaheim take on Demitra's 6.5mil?

To Buffalo: Doug Weight
To St. Louis: Paille, Pominville, 3rd in 04
Reasoning: Buffalo appears to want to win now. What is the deal with Connolly? It would give Buffalo a solid 1-2 centermen with Weight and Drury. Paille and Pominville are both projected as 3rd line players according to TSN.. so i added the pick since they are both not projected to be top six forwards... it seemed like a step down. too much?

Goal=My goal was to build a team that could skate fast and skate well. The goal is to just have a young, fast team of good skaters. Maybe Pominville or Paille could make the team and keep Low or Mayers in the pressbox. I also had around 5,700,000 or so at the end and decided to add brett hull. He made me love hockey when i was a kid. Plus, the team is not going to be very good and we will need someone to sell to the public. Maybe i would have to acquire Oates to play with him as well..
