“I don’t question Chris Mason,” Trotz said. “He has worked at his craft to become a consistent goaltender, and he has tremendous character. If you want to describe what hockey player’s intangibles should be – the competitiveness, the enthusiasm, the work ethic, all those things that make the substance of a player – he has all of those.
“… Even when I have pulled him or he hasn’t played the last two games, I believe he trusts that I don’t have any doubts about what he is capable of doing or doubts that he is our No. 1 goaltender. I think that’s important.”
Seems like the Preds want to set the record for controlling the first ten minutes of the game and then looking up and see the other team winning 1-0. I expect the Flames to play more tight in the 2nd so we will see if the Preds can create anything.
Erat just doesn't seem to have the jump that he had last year.
I agree. In fact, it seems that Dumont and Arnott really haven't done much since the first two games. I really thought the Preds would play better tonight than they have. But I have to give Kipper credit. He has been very good tonight. What little they have created he has been in position.
Speaking of Arnott-Dumont, has there been any news regarding Sully in the last week or so? Last story I read he hadn't started skating yet because he didn't feel healthy enough (despite a positive MRI).
