Would this be feasible?

In the case of either a strike or lockout next year, could Montreal arrange to have, let's say, 1 Hamilton Bulldog game every 2 weeks at the Bell Center? I think the Habs fans would love to see the likes of:

Plekanec,Higgins,Perezhogin,Hainsey,Hossa,Ferland, Milroy, ...

As well as newcomers:

Kastsitsyn (possibility),Urquhart,Danis,Lock, Lambert ...

Would this not make for some very interesting viewing?

What do you think?

This won't happen as they are the HAMILTON Bulldogs, not the Montreal "fill-up-the-Bell-Centre-when-the-Habs-aren't-around."

The team belongs to Hamilton. What message would we send their fan base if we would steal the team for half their home games. Also, Hamilton fans have season tickets, pre-paid. Wouldn't be too fair to them would it?

Not to mention that you would be surprised at how few people would turn out for an AHL game in MTL. MTL fans consider themselves "a big league city". See how the Rockets had to leave town.

Bulldogs=Hamilton, period.

Great idea, but it would only benefit fans in montreal. How do you think fans in Hamilton would feel if the couldnt see their team in their own city?

Feasible both legally and financially.

Legally:

Both organisations can enter in an aggreement which could possibly see:

Hamilton receives financial compensation which in turn would compensate the ticket holder.

In exchange Montreal agrees to organize their training camp in Hamilton.

Etc...

Financially:

Would the compensation be greater then the benefits the Habs would generate?

Would there be a fan base?

Hamilton Bulldogs would not be competing against the HABS. The Fans could identify with our Prospects.

I think it is interesting.

What if there is a lockout and MTL decides to move their farm team to Montreal for the season. Therefore, the Bulldogs play all their games at the Bell Center??

Just a TV contract for the Dogs would be great IMO

I think the idea is a provocative one.

But I do not think it is feasible because I believe that they are working on the schedule for next year right now. If thie were implemented it would change travel schedules for both the home and visiting team and that would affect the schedule.

I may be wrong, but I don't think it is feasible.

Revenues derived from TV contract goes to the Hamilton organization. It may be wishful thinking but I am looking at the possiblity for the HABS to put some money in their coffers during the lockout.

From another point of view the revenue generated by the TV contract may help pay our prospects' salaries.

Does anyone know what the HABS' financial obligations are toward the Hamilton Bulldogs.

I don't think it will happen since most of the ahl players have their contract paid by nhl owners.

If they have a deal with Hamilton, then the games will be played in Hamilton. You don't take away a minor league franchise from a city for a half season or so. They may be able to move 1 or 2 games but no more than that.

Feasable? try no. There's a reason why business enter into contracts so the other side can't do things like this. How would you feel if you had season tickets to the Dogs, and they up and move for a season or two after they signed a five year contract with four years left on it, and another 5 year option.
