I know the first one didn't go over too well but I got two more to put on here. One I have now and I'm just waiting until I have time to capture the second one. It'll probably be an hour or so.

Haha, I actaully liked the Gomez commercials. Both of them were SUPER hokey but pretty funny. In a corny way, obviously.

At least they were better than the Marty Brodeur commercials for Oasis Ford!

Yeah that's kind of how you have to take them. The other one should be up in a few minutes. I uploaded it and am just waiting for it to get on youtube.

That's the last one. There might be some new ones coming out but these are the only ones I've seen.

You guys are crazy, I thought the original one with the scouts was pretty funny.

You gotta take it in that hokey, really bad, local-hero type fashion, but it works.

also, good writing doesnt have to be super expensive.

heck, you could go to a local college, and find a creative writing class, and as a contest ask them to submit ideas for a commercial. the winner gets $500. i bet youd have a TON more ideas that are better than this, which cost less to make.
The problem with this commercial wasn't the writing, it was the editing. The overall concept was good: training camp with the Rangers, playing on the Rangers name and the concept of camp to make it a boyscout troop. What you really need is good editing to make the dialogue and the direction look snappy and well-timed. That's all this advert really missed out on. Believe me, I work in the film business, editing is the black art of movie making.

The other factor to remember is that, though I'm sure Gomer didn't make too much $$$ off of this, the more he costs, the less budget they have for the rest of the commercial.s

Wanted to kind of bump this. I was talking about a segment HDNEt did on Scott this summer and I found the stuff on youtube and I have the entire thing dvr's and I'll try and put it on youtube. This isn't the entire thing I can think of one of his story's cut out and ofcourse the show's host talking to Scott after the segment but for right now this is good enough. And yeah my brother looks really bad.

That was on VS?. Didn't know that.

Yeah and it is weird seeing it on tv. We also have a cabin and it's right next to Scott's. But yeah They shot a bunch of footage though I guess I wasn't there.

Got a new one here. I also redid the Big Apple one as it was on pretty much the same time and it's alot better quality that the other one. I got a new video camera that I can hook up to my cable box and record directly from there.

I'll throw the other one up later it's still processing.

Can anyone find the commercial with leetch in a team USA jersey figure skating and then gretzky pops up eating mcdonalds and makes fun of Leetch. Always like that one.

Nike

I have always liked the Nike goalie commercials... those were darn hilarious... especially the one where the goalie is hiding behind the door and puts a banana peel down hoping Mats Sundin would trip over it... I can't find it... but those commercials were classic.

As far as Alaska commercials go... they are just like any of your local commercials down in the USA, but GCI has this weird way of doing commercials so corny, so that you remember them. Bad editing, quality, acting, etc... the whole gambit... but then they pop out with a good quality one that would be presentable to anyone....

You mean like the Junior Ranger one on the first page?. Yeah I know they use that dude in seinfeld or atleast did for awhile john ohalrahan or whatever his name was but these ones are mostly corny for the most part. Didn't they use Bill Clement is a few too?

Clement has a place up here and when he comes up int he summer, GCI nabs him. Hockey is the sport here, so any hockey player coming I am sure will see some GCI time

I would love to see Dubi and Gomez do one this summer.

Depending on which you mean I'll either agree or disagree. If you are talking about the newer one I kind of agree that one didn't really have any comedy in it atleast that I remember. On the other ones there was atleast a little comedy in there.

I didn't know he had a place here and it's kind of weird I haven't seen him around Gomez's cabin. Gomez is going to be doing another golf tournament here this year I think around the same time as last time so that would be cool to see a few on commercials. Gordie Howe is supposed to be one of the guests with Ryan Suter and maybe Gary Suter.

Got a new commercial. The audio at the beginning is messed up. I think it's just the commercial. anyway he says he went to a imitation crab buffet last night.

Thornton is the best part of that entire commercial. Hysterical.
