Lol, I'm struggling on why Holzinger is even in the NHL. Wow, McLean has a keen eye for talent LOL

At least the book isn't written on Lasse yet.

Society loses in this deal.

I think maybe MacLean owed Patrick one for taking Oliwa and Pushor (and Heward too?) off his hands in recent years.

actually, oliwa helped us. our stupid coaches didn understand the concept of rolling four lines, so he was never used.

What a joke.

The Jackets now have about 22 centers. Why not add a small, expensive, old one to the mix?? This makes ZERO sense on every conceivable level.

Well, after one game Holzinger is already being hailed by some as the worst Blue Jacket ever

Pirjeta on the other hand...well, he's been invisible.

Pirjeta > Holzinger to begin with. I don't know why Columbus made this trade, I think Pirjeta is a much better player but I haven't seen too much of him this year.

One thing I want to know is...how in the hell did Brian Holzinger get a contract giving him 1.2 million a year?

Tampa is paying half of it, but still...why give this piece of crap that much money?

I think Doug made this trade for Lasse's sake, he was no longer in Columbus's plans. Doug sent him to a team where he might have a shot at the NHL. Craig Patrick must have thought Lasse wasn't worth a 9th round pick in 2045 and sent Holzinger instead.

Maybe CP did it for a little PR, because Holzinger was pretty much the most hated Penguin.

I think Pirjeta can be an effective defensive forward in the NHL. He seems to be a smart player, just hasn't contributed much offensively. He has shown some skill and talent, just not this year that much. I like the trade from the Pittsburgh side.

Pirjeta has been playing well recently and scoring some goals for the Penguins.

Looks like he's getting some PP time with the Pens. Good for him.

You'll need to ask Rick Dudley that question.
