Forsberg no go

Bill Metzer just reported that Forsberg has withdrawn from the tournement, his foot is still bad i guess.

Yikes. I didn't think he'd be out all year. Still, he seems to be a bit oversensitive about the ankle, so maybe his comment about being out all year was an overreaction?

I think we may have seen the last of Foppa.

Darn It! I was really hopeful that we would see him again in the orange and black.

This is the main reason I didn't want to see Forsberg back in Philly, regardless of how much I like him.

It becomes about "is Forsberg going to play tonight"? instead of the team. Too much drama and it kinda gets to be a circus act. I wish Forsberg was healthy and could play out the rest of his days with Philly, but I don't think he'll ever return to the NHL and will probably have to retire. Which is a shame.

"It doesn't feel good, I always try to stay positive, but today is a very dark day." from TSN

Ugh! I know it's inevitable that his career will be over someday but it's a shame he won't get to go out on his own terms.

For me personally, this hurts, he's been my favorite player since he came into the league, I am going to miss watching him play (if he has in fact played his last game).

That's sad.

Oh well, at least the Sens won't be getting him either.

Next in line? Teemu Selanne.

Let the rumours begin.

I said the exact same thing to myself earlier tonight, and it has begun already.

I don't see it as a dark day. Peter has his rings, accomplishments. I feel more pain for Eric Lindros than I do Foppa.

if peter came back would it be worth it? why sit a few good players who fought for there spot to be weeded out by an unreliable player. totally unfair

Who would you rather have on your postseason roster? Forsberg (assuming he's mostly healthy) or Riley Cote?

i'd love to hear your thoughts on deadline acquisitions when someone goes from a contender to a bottom dweller and the opposite.
